The Zeme Council North East India, ZCNEI  in a press release has reaffirmed its disassociation from the Zeliangrong Union and reiterated its demand to
remove 'Ze' from the nomenclature 'Zeliangrong Union'.
This disassociation has been in force since 25th July 2009 but the Zeliangrong Union has not heeded to the objection, which is being made by the entire Zeme people living in North East India, stated the release signed by Ngauphulak, President Zeme Council North East India.

The Zeliangrong Union is an unrecognised organisation in Zeliangrong society as well as in Naga societies.

To achieve unity it is essential to first find out which tribe Zeme, Liangmei, Rongmei or Inpui is the problem creator in Zeliangrong unity.

ZCNEI strongly reminded that the Zeme tribe had already disassociated itself from Zeliangrong Union.

ZCNEI also warned those not heeding this warning would have to face all responsibilities in any untoward eventuality should that occur.
